If you want to begin, just decide where you are about to place the flowers. If it is for the centerpiece of a dining table, definitely it should have a different look rather than a flower arrangement that is for a shelf or in a corner. You can either choose a horizontal design or a vertical design, based on your plan. A vertical design that is spare and simple will look stunning on a corner table, while the horizontal design would look great on a buffet table or dining table.
